Punjabiportal's celebrity member Christa Cannon

We do have some Ethnic Americans (dont know if that phrase actually exists.. but i like the way it sounds so...), but she is the first one to really have made 8 posts already. Bravo..!! She is Christa Cannon from States and is from the cast (Carie) of Punjabi Film Chevvan Darya ie The Sixth River. The film is due for release in a few months and we wish the film becomes a hit and she gets more Punjabi Films... to think of it, considering Heartland being shot in Punjab, this might be a new trend... cast english actresses (not actors ) in Punjabi Films. I personally hope it catches on...

Christa registered with us under the flagship of Robin Hood (we changed it to her real name) and loves whispering to Animals and is a traveling freak... we hope Punjab left some impressions on her. As i understand she has already filmed and have said goodbye to India for now, but thats no reason why she shouldnt be interacting with us through our forums. So here we are... we have already made her a celeb on PP and this is her own thread where she will be communicating with us for many many years to come.. ahem... we strongly believe that the last part of the sentence is true and not fabricated by any means except of course if the world decides to end in 2012.

She might be knowing Punjabi, but i will suggest we keep this thread in English for her benefit.

I enjoyed my stay in Punjab very much--bahat acha. Dolly, you must have heard from Lakhwinder about my "animal whispering!" Too funny...he found it amusing, to say the least.

I hope we'll be able to have a premiere in Punjab--that would be nice to get Gulshan Grover and Neena Gupta and Lakhwinder all together again.

I'm loving the enthusiasm for this movie, guys--danyevaad! (I probably spelled that wrong...)

Can I say Rub Rukha to you all, or is that not the proper term...?

ha ha ha.. its not Rab Rukha.... that would mean May the God be dejected with you.. or say... May the god be away from you... it spells Rab Rakha.. pronounced as /ra:kha:/ and not /ru:kha:/ the funny thing is that there is no Phoenician symbol for the sound of "kh" so i simply used it as it is. danyevaad is in Hindi, in Punjabi it is Dhanwaad. Speaking Punjabi exactly the opposite of English.. Unlike English, where you glide through all the words, in Punjabi you are supposed to stress every word and churn out every syllable properly with stress.

If Lakhwinder bai told me (not dolly) about your animal whispering, i wonder who told me about your hissing and ultra-fast nostril flaring... think think

@Dolly--It wasn't you, eh? Hmmm...it was either Lakhwinder or one of the many animals I had discussions with. Other languages: I can speak a little French...very little German...and I'm trying to learn Irish Gaelic.

@Bobby--Oh, no! I was told Rab Rukha meant "bless you," or something similar. I said it usually when people sneezed. As for the hissing--my resume!!! So--what else is Lakhwinder saying about me? All good things, I hope. Lakhwinder changa munda hai...so I'm sure he's not talking bad! He's not a gunda.
