Team http://www.punjabiportal.com competed in 1000cc class. punjabiportal members fuel_care (Anil Sood) and amitsood (Amit Sood), who are basically from Hoshiarpur represented our team with their modified Zen.

Friends, Khushwant Randhawa has brought the 4x4 Rally to Patiala. He has been telling me about it for many years now that he wanted to organize it here. Well finally its gonna happen and he has asked me to take care of all the entertainment and cultural festivities. On top of that http://www.punjabiportal.com will be getting first hand footage of the whole event.

For those of you who dont know Khushwant is one of the best ralliests in India and has won Desert Storm and other prestigious rallies many times. He is a pure jatt as it goes and is a family man with recently born daughter.

Well the event will be held at his farm of 6 Acres near Sheesh Mehal Patiala. with custom built track on 21, 22 and 23 November. The event will include Rally Schooling on first day, Qualifying rounds on 2nd day and the finals on 3rd day. Male and female rallyists will compete in separate leagues. Anyone interested can participate. Its an open event.

All of the ace drivers of India are coming to Patiala to participate in the event, not for fame, but because Randhawa is one of the most respected racer. The star of the event will be Gaurav Gill, a 26-year old from New Delhi, driving for Team MRF, became the first Indian ever to win a round of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship. He is attending the event purely out of passion for Punjab and his being friends with Randhawa.

I will be meeting with Randhawa tomorrow hopefully and will record something for PP. Also everyone from Punjabiportal is invited to attend the event with special honors. In fact i will be really happy to have you guys there. We can do lots of coverage together as i will be busy running around. Anyone interested in helping me out, please mention here or send me a PM. i was thinking of making a static site separately for the event. we can add it as a sub domain or something... what do u say? it will be static site with our videos and stuff... will have to do it this weekend only.. cant delay... how can u help?

sorry bai, had to leave at that time for client call and on first friday we leave at 5. went out with colleagues for sometime...its kinda norm of office hre.
comin bck on track, no need to do static site..tht will look ugly n create a bad impression. u 've d set up u 've d theme...just have a sub-domain of punjabiportal. with this, we will have more hits of this website and more people aware of this thingy. and we will try to promote or pass links to people of punjab outside punjab too. i will try to do that on some forums and similarly asking our other users.
what m saying is..try to develop a good page with background of motor racing and current event on a page..and how punjab is no more just limited to tractors n agriculture and asking others to join the cause. its right way to click on internet too...donation page should come in at same time..may be right now.
add the patiala rally link as suffix like punjabiportal(.) com / patialrally or whatever fancy name..or patialarally.punjabiportal.com....tht can be hosted on separate computer or same machine.its just depending upon content...
having a viewers section, people who want to put their views ..make sure they register us on punjabiportal domain.tht way did u get it?/

The problem is that i dont have time to develop a dynamic site. Im not sure you guys understand what i mean by static and dynamic sites. http://www.bobbysandhulive.com is a static site. In a static site you have to add data manually, in a dynamic site, there is a CMS to help you with that.

To develop a dynamic site, i will need a developer, which at the moment i dont have. Samir is occupied with finishing the first phase of Punjabi Portal. As for media partners, Randhawa is organising this event out of his own pocket, so he isnt paying anyone, neither im gonna get paid, im also getting invoilved coz i respect him as a friend, he is a very genuine guy who has given too much for Punjab... i feel at the same spot myself... i have been investing myself... so i know it feels nice when someone stands by you.

Still i will ask him if he can promote our site at the event. My jeep Casshern will be the showcar vehicle at the event and will also be the flag off pilot car. Im gonna get http://www.punjabiportal.com written on it today itself. So that might help us a bit.

i will see how much photage i can get. The issue is that this raw photage takes time to get edited and converted into proper video.... and thats again an issue with time...

bai ji, je koi media sponsor ni haiga je aap hi promote karni, lao 2-4 jaane naal te apaan aap hi ban jao media sponsor eh event de. coverage karan laye ik channel wale ik paper wale te internet te PP hai hi...tusi ohna nu bula sakde jaan pehchaan wale ta honge hi ya fir eda cover ni karde? eh sab thonu pata hou jyada.

if it needs to be promoted, can have rally posters....or just simply promote PP is media sponsor of event.
website i know static one, we can add one big page at punjabi portal..and give it anonymous access without any registration. and add some banners, in case they want to see movies,pictures and high resolution stuff( take a friend along for some photography) they shall register it..and tht registration has to be through this site.

or may be if you still want everything to be intact, just record videos and photographs.Allow media people to cover it via PP that it was first time ever media sponsor covered on internet live and now everything is available online.
you can ask all this to randhawa to how he is interested , its obvious he won't say no to promotion. Its a nice effort being made and i think it deserves attention and love,respect from people and rally lovers across country.

I spent half of my day today with Khushwant Randhawa. This is how it went:

1 I will be deisgning and managing the Official website of Randhawa's club.
2 The Autocross event posters will have our name as "Our Online Partners http://www.punjabiportal.com"
3. Khushwant Randhawa's Gypsy from now onwards will have http://www.punjabiportal.com written on it as a decyl in all the rallies.
4. Im going to design Randhawa's Sjoba 2008 Gypsy's color theme.
5. We are going to cover the Autocross (me and Samir officially) event thoroughly including exclusive interviews with all the participants esp. Gaurav Gill.
6. We will also make a documentry film on Randhawa for the Sjoba Rally 2008.
7. Media is covering the event and we will try to input our site's name in the press conference.
8. The venue is 21, 22 and 23rd November at Randhawa's Farm behind Sheesh Mehal Patiala.
9. Girls can also participate in their own female category.
10. Participation fee is 1000/- per head and you are supposed to bring your own car.
11. The categories to compete are: 800cc, 1100cc, 1400cc and 1600cc.
12. SUVs and Jeeps cant participate.
13. Motorcycles cant participate.
14. There will be showcars as well. Specially modified vehicles will be on display. My jeep Chasshern will also be one of them.
