Here is one lokgeet that I found in one of the most exclusive books on the subject compiled by none other than Dr M.S Randhawa the former Vice Chancellor of PAU and one of the first ICS officers from rural Punjab. He played major roles in the Green Revolution in India, resettling Punjabis uprooted by Partition as the Rehabilitaion commissioner, establishing the city of Chandigarh and documenting the arts of Punjab. This book Punjab de look geet was written after years of research by Dr. Randhawa and Davinder Satyarthi in undivided Punjab before partition and when modernization was just setting in, they collected lok geets from all corners of the British Indian province of Punjab and published the book just after partition. In a way they were able to document lok geets of the composite culture of Punjab and its different regions before the division.
This particular lok geet seems to be 70-80 years old describing the modernisation of society. The person is trying to describe how the new generations of girls and women are into fashions and leisure which is detriorating their health and also ruining the fortunes earned by their husbands by hard work....used to be sung by girls on special festivals many years ago.. almost extinct now but even more applicable to today's Punjabi society.
