Evry punjabi iz quite familiar abt d story of Heer Ranjha..
Its a new league movie for our punjabi film industry coz itz a period film, nd u'll definitely lyk it if u dont look knowingly for any loopholes ( that are thr as in every movie).
If u like our culture nd our language, its definitely worth a watch on big screen..
Only thing is dont keep hollywood stuff in mind wen u watch it, watch it from a level where punjab, punjabi n punjabiyat r coming frm.
1 thing abt d story which i nd most of d ppl felt ws dat d movie ws a bit shrt.. it wud hav been gr8 if it had been xtended a lil bit..
Songs:
Gr8 songs penned down by Babu Singh Mann. Every song beautifully portrays the theme of the film.. The sound track composed by Gurmeet Singh iz ultimate..
D heer sung by janaab shaukat ali iz well-timed in parts..
other songs sung by HM r awl awsum.. HM's hz gt a marvellous voice nd hiz sngs appeal to d soul..
Although awl sngs r of the top league, ma fvr8 r 'jogiyan de kannan vich' nd 'aauna sajna ne'..
In d end, d lines by HM which played in d back-ground wer so touchin' dat it brought tears in ma eys.. It wz a nyc decission nt to include those lyns in d muzik album coz in diz way dey came lyk a surprise..
Dey gav d best end which ws needed 4 such a breath-taking luv stry..
1 sng which i felt odd in diz movie ws 'pehli raat milaap di'.. although gursewak hz gt a brilliant voice, bt it wud hav been bttr if dat sng had jasbir jassi's voice..
Direction:
I havnt seen harjeet singh nd harry wrkin' 2gthr b4, so i ws vry excited to see their wrk nd had a lot of expectations since itz a period film.. bt d direction of diz movie ws far more better den i xpected.. cant ask for more..
Locations:
Locations wer amazing nd none of location ws lukin' odd.. d makers of d film had tried their level best to recreate those times nd dey wer also successful in doin' so.. excellent wrk done..
Jewellary nd Costumes:
It ws lyk special care ws taken on d jewwelary nd costumes of diz movie to make ppl more aware abt those times.. nyc wrk done by giggle bhullar helped to giv a more vibrant luk to diz movie..
Punjabi:
I also liked d concept of usin' different forms of punjabi at different instances.. d punjabi spoken in takht hazara ws a bit different frm siyaal nd rangpur.. i dont know abt d differences which occur in those places bt i ws happy dat dey hav wrkd on diz aspect also..
Actors:
D lead iz played beautifully by the hit pair of Harbhajan Mann nd Neeru Bajwa
They both wer at their best.
frm d start of d movie, HM's dedication ws clearly visible.. hiz actin' skills hav improved upto a gr8 extent..
HM iz surely gettin' bttr wid age..
wid such a gr8 performance in d role of ranjha, HM has shown dat hiz actin' skillz r nt restricted to a limited roles..
no1 else cud hav fitted better den HM in d role of ranjha..
it ws a brilliant performance nd he wz so natural..
frm now onwrds wenevr sum1 wud talk abt ranjha, HM's name wud surely cum into mind.. ranjha nd HM r nw inseparable..
neeru bajwa iz also wel portrayed as heer.. b4 d movie i ws a bit doubtful abt her, bt aftr watching heer-ranjha i felt dat she ws d best 4 diz role.. well done neeru..
guggu gill, diljit kaur, gursharan mann, shavinder mahal, awl wer awsum nd gav wondrful performances..
jasbir jassi nd mickey duhra r also to be watched in this movie, although their role in movie iz nt dat much as i expected..
Bt dey wer able to left their mark..
jasbir jassi ws ok nd i feel dat he need's to wrk out a bit on hiz actin'.. bt since it ws hiz first movie, he hs given nyc performance..
mickey duhra ws absolutely amazin' on screen.. cant expect a better performance den diz frm a debutant nd nw there iz 1 more name added 2 d list of gud heroines in punjabi cinema.
I think v'll very soon see her in d lead role in sum movie.

iz a gr8 actor nd he also gav a gud contribution in d role of fatu yaar..
sameep kang was okayish.. I would have been more happy if deep dhillon, dara singh or yograj singh played d role of siyaal da raja..
overall d cast of diz movie ws excellent..
Overall, movie has made a difference to punjabi cinema..
Itz cn b considered as landmark for punjabi cinema..
D cast nd d crew hav wrked with utmost sincerity and historical accuracy..
Nvr thought dat a period film in punjabi of diz standard wil evr b made bt HM's dedication towards punjabi cinema cn make anythin' possible..
He iz really d king of punjabi cinema who hz made punjabi films popular thru-out d globe..
Heer Ranjha promises to raise d standard of punjabi cinema and wil surely b appreciated by d loyal fanz of punjabi cinema..
We need more movies like these to expand our cinema.
Dont compare it with hollywood, then you will definitely love it.
Its time to appreciate wats being done to improve our cinema.
Itz a movie of dat type which u' ll nvr feel bour of, as many times as u watch..
