Some days back I was approached by Punjabi Music Video Director Atharv Baluja to draw some caricatures of Ravinder Grewal for his next video of the song Timetable. I was intrigued by the use of caricatures in a Punjabi Music Video as this has never been done before.
Anyway, he gave me some still images to work upon and asked me to come out with some GIF animations that can be used in the video at intervals. In the time span of two days I created 5 animations, of which he used 4 in the video and just yesterday he released the Music Video on YouTube.
I just saw the video and was impressed by the use of animations and other techniques used in the Video. Most notably is the fusion of two Grewals in single frames. This is technically genius of Athrav to have done that. I don’t recall any other video where this has been done before.
Here I am posting all the individual animations as I created them for use in the video. Creating GIF animations is art and I know many artists who would have done a lot better than this. I hope these are acceptable. The video is at the end:
And this is the one that couldn’t make it to the final cut of the video. Personally, this is my favorite.
