Sade Pind Rabb Vasda is the show which is keeping me on the heels these days. This show is telecasted on ETC Punjabi every Sunday at 8:00 PM and then is repeated throughout the week. The concept of the show is about visiting various villages of Punjab and provide the information about them in an entertaining way. I personally wanted it to be closer to have a documentary feel, but the channel thought it would be better to keep it commercial and open ended for the larger good.
The show’s format is simple. First we visit the village, talk about it’s importance. Now we don’t go to every village at random, oon the contrary these villages have to have some importance. For instance some villages might have religious importance, others might have economical, while others may have historical background attached to them. So in the beginning we discuss the importance of the village. Next we meet someone from the village who can tell us about the history of the village, or the relative important facts about the village. It’s always intriguing to find how all these villages were named as such. Next I go for a “geddi” of the village in which I roam around the streets of the village.

In the next section we get to take the real feel of a village’s “roti” and the pure home cooked meal of Punjab. This house can be anyone who wants to volunteer as we just go and eat whatever is there in any way they want it. This part is the most fun and we had many leisured afternoons in a number of villages.
In the third and last section we get to see some local village talent or what the village people do for fun. Sometimes its kabaddi or cricket, or at times its volleyball or just plain “Taash”. We have come across some really good talents, for instance Pawan Kumar kaile, who has his name is Guinness Book Of Records for his reversible jackets. Then there have been Gatka, Stunt bikers, Bhand, singing talent and instrumentals. And with that the show ends.

So every week you see me going to a different village, talk about it, dig out its History, visit religious places in there, have lunch with someone at the village and finally get to see the village entertainment aspects. Hopefully you people have the same amount of fun that we have shooting it.
