Veteran actor Rajesh Khanna passed away today at his residence Aashirwad in Mumbai, following kidney ailments. Born as Jatin Arora in Amritsar of Punjab dist., Rajesh Khanna was 69 and is survived by his wife Dimple Kapadia and two daughters Twinkle and Rinke. The last rites will be performed tomorrow.
Rajesh Khanna’s family was by his side when he breathed his last. His estranged wife Dimple Kapadia and son-in-law Akshay Kumar had been a great support in the last few months of his illness. He was facing health issues since June and was admitted to hospital twice. A day earlier on July 17th, he was discharged from the hospital. Finally, on July 18th he breathed his last. After having lost Dara Singh a few days earlier, the news of the demise of Rajesh Khanna comes as a shocking blow to Hindi Film fraternity.
Rajesh Khanna started acting in 1966 and has to his credit 106 films as the single lead protagonist in a span of twenty-five years. . From being an acclaimed actor, to a celebrated film producer and then a politician, Rajesh Khanna had donned several roles.
Bollywood stars expressed their condolences on social networking sites and bid adieu to this legendary actor.
