Gurdwara Mehdiana Sahib is not only a splendid architectural accomplishment, it is also famous for its architecture and monuments depicting important events in Sikh history. The gurdwara is also commonly known as the School of Sikh History. An artist by the name Tara Singh started this process with sculpting major Sikh History figures. Later he erected many sikh history scenes and colored them as well. Its tragic that this Gurudwara is being ignored by the authorities. One fact is that as it is not on the highway, it doesn’t get much attention, secondly as its not under SGPC under control, it doesn’t get any donations.
The sculptures are now in dilapidated condition. The paint is wearing off and there aren’t enough funds to take care of these sculptors anymore. We have clicked photographs of almost all the sculptors there at the Gurudwara in a hope that someone will tend to help in raising awareness about such an amazing place related with Sikh History.
