Gavie Chahal with Salman Khan in Ek Tha Tiger

Back in 2006, while switching the channels, i came across this handsome young boy in an interview about his then about to release movie Mehndi Waale Hath and i was very impressed when i came to know about his educational and family background. Everything made him look so genuine. It felt great to see someone from Punjab representing Punjabi in such a gentleman way and somehow he seemed very accessible, so i decided to send him a mail. i must admit i wasn’t expecting that it would ever reach him and he would ever reply back even if he got it. But i thought if someone is doing some good, I must appreciate it in my own way even if that person gets it or not and Lo ! It reached him !! Not just that, he even replied back and to cut the long story short, we started exchanging mails quite often. This all happened before the birth of punjabiportal.

After a while he got busy with his television projects and we somehow lost contact. I used to feel so happy while watching him making a mark in Television industry with his serials like Mohe Rang De and number of top-notch ad commercials and every now and then used to send him the mails but as he was very busy, he could never reply back and I got busy with pp and we totally lost track of one another. But then back in 2010, out of the blue I received a mail from Gavie explaining how he was busy with his new projects and he expressed his appreciation for what we’ve done through punjabiportal. Infact, he joined pp and sent these lovely pictures that we have shared below.

And today again i got this email of his, sharing the great news of another milestone in his career. Yes !! As you might have known by now after going through the title, Gavie Chahal is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Ek Tha Tiger. A Yash Raj Production, slated to be released in August 2012, this film is a romantic thriller.
Gavie has already done three schedules of the film in Ireland, Turkey and Cuba.

Gavie Chahal won the title of Mr Punjab in the year 2000 after which he started a career in the music industry. His first music video was Jattan De Putt Saadh Ho Gaye. Since then, he has appeared in more than 60 music videos including his renowned video Gussa na karin ni tenu picho waaj maari e. Subsequently, in 2005, he moved to Mumbai to start acting in the soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. He left the show to act in the Punjabi film Yaaran Naal Baharan. He has also featured in a variety of advertising campaigns. He also participated in AXN’s adventure show FEAR FACTOR, eventually winning the competition. He made a mark with his serial Mohe Rang De and Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein and since then, there is no looking back. Gavie has Punjabi films Yaaran Naal Baharan, Majaajan, Mehndi Wale Hath, and Tere Ishq Nachaya to his credit.
