Debi Live 5 was recorded live on 15th November 2012 in BIS Institute located at village Ghagra. I was invited by Debi Makhsoospuri to come and attend the event and hence I went there yesterday. The venue was amazing, the whole building was dressed in Diwali attire and the stage decoration was really awesome.
The crowd was insane and a huge gathering was swaying instead of the cold in the air. Show started quite late at 7:45 or so and right away Debi Bai sang “Asi Dar Tere te Aaye” in the name of God almighty. Right after that Debi Bai started reciting couplets and his shero shayri. This time around it was 80% sheyro Shayri and 20% songs along with Debi Bai’s quick jokes.
After 3 songs, Debi Bai invited Surjit Patar Sir to come on the stage and bless him. It’s evident now that Debi Bai considers Surjit Patar sir as Guru. Patar sir said some beautiful words regarding Debi Bai and a poem about Punjab as well.
The highlight of the show was the latest song from Debi Bai “Mudke Kade Milya hi Nahi”, which was the reply from the girl’s side in answer to Debi Live 3‘s song “Ohna dinna ch meinu chahundi c k nahi”. The sog and its lyrics were just genius. I loved the line “Joodi te banda c rumaal”. The crowd literally went insane at this song.
Im speaking the truth when I say that I was literally shaking in the cold but still I didnt want to miss a single word coming out of Debi Bai’s mouth. After a few songs Debi bai surprised me when he invited me on the stage to perform. I was unprepaired, but I went up anyway and spent around 5 minutes or so while Debi Bai said in my ear “Tu thoda time la, mein chaa pee k aaya”…

Veere bahut vadhiya.. Bas hun wait hai release di.. I think they will take a couple of months for editing and fer pau pataaka..
I like Debi’s shayri more than songs.. So if it has 80% shayri then it’s a must buy album for me.. :D
