Being promoted as India’s first photo realistic 3D Animation film, Chaar Sahibzaade is written and directed by Harry Baweja who has earlier directed Dilwale, Imtihan, Love Story 2050, Diljale, Deewane, Karz, Qayamat and Karam.
The film is produced by Rowena Girneet Baweja with dialogues by Baldev Gill. Animation which is the key factor here is provided by Interactive Realities Pvt Ltd.
To quote Harry Baweja, the director, “While going through the pages of Sikh History, as I focused on the dramatic events around the lives and sacrifices of the four sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, I knew I had the story of my next film in hand. But it is a known fact that a ‘live action’ film cannot be made on the lives of the four sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. In this case animation was the only option in which format I could make a feature film on this part of Sikh History.”
He continued, “We then closely worked with Prasad Ajgaonkar the head at the Animation Studio ‘i Realities’ to create the world of that era. Finally after an intense effort of literary and technical research for over three years, we have been able to bring out the first look of the film. Our effort is to make this film true to history and correct in its depiction of religious sentiments.”
Chaar Sahibzaade is the story of four sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji – Sahibzaada Ajit Singh, Sahibzaada Jujhar Singh, Sahibzaada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzaada Fateh Singh. The film is set to release worldwide by the end of 2013 with projection in both 3D and 2D in many languages including Punjabi, Hindi and English.
